Together we are

PROMOTING LATINX EDUCATIONAL SUCCESS

WHO WE ARE

NLERAPP is more than a twenty-year-old consortium of universities and community-based organizations.

Our research has shown us that an exclusively university-based approach is not sufficient to reach our goals. We must also extend our efforts and build partnerships within the larger community including businesses and local community organizations to promote new career opportunities for Latinos and other minorities.

We work to channel information on teacher preparation, teacher job searches, certifications, and policies to provide qualified teachers that are sensitive to students’ needs. Our approach is action oriented to improve the opportunities that children and young adults need to succeed in school, home and life. We are a resource for speakers and research on minority language, culture and relations; consultation about community challenges in education; and research-based policy recommendations that improve the teacher preparation pathways for U.S. minorities, in general.

OUR APPROACH

With a focus in education

in the classroom and beyond, NLERAPP is affirming today’s new multicultural and global realities.

We work to channel information on teacher preparation, teacher job searches, certifications, and policies to provide qualified teachers that are sensitive to students’ needs, especially in under performing schools and underserved communities where they are frequently concentrated. Our approach is action oriented to improve the opportunities that children and young adults need to succeed in school, home and life. We are a resource for speakers and research on minority language, culture and relations; consultation about community challenges in education; and research-based policy recommendations that improve the teacher preparation pipeline for U.S. minorities, in general.
